IRRMA Spring Fling welcomes the season
Spring is on the way and the Iowa RockNRoll Music Association plans to usher in the season with a rockin’ good show and dance on Saturday, March 20.
“We have waited what seems like a very long time for spring to get here,” said IRRMA Marketing Director Becky Peters. “There is nothing better than great music and dancing to lift everyone’s spirits and get us thinking about green grass, birds singing and flowers getting ready to bloom.”
The Spring Fling will take place in the Wimbledon Ballroom at Arrowwood Resort in Okoboji.
“We are excited to have Generations of Rock “n” Roll headline the show,” Peters added. “With Generations, we have three bands in one: BB & the Bullfrogs, The Senn Menn and DeeJay & the Runaways with a guest appearance by Terry Klein. It will be a wonderful show.”
Generations spokesman John Senn extended an invitation. “We want everyone to come and have fun. It has been a long winter and we are ready to rock,” he said. “We know everyone is anticipating summer and Rock the Roof on Thursday nights. Spring Fling will be a big step toward getting everyone in the groove for a wonderful summer.”
Prizes will be awarded for the most creative man’s and woman’s hat or head covering honoring spring. The goal is to have the dance floor adorned with “Easter Bonnets” and other spring-like caps, hats, etc. on dancers enjoying a Spring Fling.
IRRMA invites everyone to celebrate spring and participate in a special evening of outstanding entertainment. Doors will open at 6:30 with music from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are available at the door at $8 for IRRMA members, $10 for non-members.
