Before we know it, wood ducks, bluebirds and wrens will be returning to our area to nest. Many birds are cavity nesters, using holes in old trees or a box that you build for them.
The Palo Alto County Conservation Board is sponsoring a Birdhouse Building Workshop, Saturday, March 13, 1:00 pm at the Lost Island Nature Center north of Ruthven.
Bring a hammer and $5 to cover the cost of materials to make and take home a wren house. Learn about a variety of cavity nesting birds and how we can attract them to our backyard.
