Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Storm Lake Police are called to 1717 Tulip Lane apartment #8 shortly after 3:00 this (Thursday) morning in reference to a disturbance in progress and a report that a woman was being choked.
Once on scene those inside refused to open the door reportedly continually shouted insults through the door at police. Police forced entry into the apartment and encountered 29-year-old Travis Davis of Storm Lake who struggled with police and threatened to shoot and kill them. Police took Davis to the floor and subdued him without further incident. Police further took three women into custody both inside and outside the apartment.
An investigation alleges that a fight between three adult females occurred outside of apartment #1 involving one person being assaulted by being struck with a toaster. The fight continued and at one point one of the females was choked by a fourth male subject. The participants in the fight eventually ended up in apartment #8 when police were called.
Davis is charged with terrorist threats - a class D felony, interference with official acts, assault, and disorderly conduct. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $5,900.00 cash bond.
25-year-old Shemeka Davis of Storm Lake was charged with Interference With Official Acts, Criminal Trespass, Assault, and Disorderly Conduct. She was booked into the county jail on a $1,200.00 cash bond.
24-year-old Demitra White of Storm Lake was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Interference With Official Acts. She was booked into the county jail on a $600.00 cash bond.
19-year-old Tiffany Dean of Havelock was charged with Disorderly Conduct. She was booked into the county jail on a $300.00 cash bond.
Minor injuries were reported to some of the participants but no medical attention was required.
Police seized a pellet gun which resembled a life like version of a semi-automatic handgun from the apartment where the subject threatened to shoot and kill police.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A Storm Lake teen faces charges after spray painting graffiti at a number of locations in town.
Police were called out Tuesday morning to the Family Dental Center as there was graffiti on the building. Similar graffiti was found on a vacant building located at 630 Geneseo Street and authorities followed shoe prints to a home. A consent search of a bedroom turned up cans of spray paint, shoes, and other evidence connected to the graffiti.
A 17-year-old male was charged with 5 counts of criminal mischief in connection with graffiti at the aforementioned locations, Iglesia De Dios Pentecostal Church, a railroad overpass and Osegaro Laundromat. Total damage to the properties is estimated at $425.00.
The teen was was processed and released to a family member pending a court date.
George, IA (KICD)--A peeper from George is jailed by the Lyon County Sheriff's Office.
On Sunday 55-year-old John Elias was charged with invasion of privacy, 3rd degree theft, and preventing apprehension after allegedly using peepholes to view women in a bathroom at his place of employment. Elias stole and destroyed a camera which was being used to catch the perpetrator.
He was booked into Lyon County jail and posted a $2,000 bond.
(Ocheydan, IA)--An investigation into a domestic assault complaint led to the arrest of an Ocheydan man on drug charges.
Osceola County sheriff's officers say they had a search warrant for a home in the 800 block of Main Street in Ocheydan on Tuesday.
Authorities allege they found what they think is marijuana. That led them to charge 36 year old Troy Harris with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He also faces a count of prohibited acts, domestic assault and false imprisonment.
Harris is being held in the Osceola County Jail on a 46 hundred dollar cash bond.
