Ruthven, IA (KICD)--Two from Ruthven are injured after their car is dragged by a freightliner.
The Palo Alto County Sheriff's Office says Tuesday's accident took place in the 1300 block of Gowrie Street in Ruthven. 82-year-old Lawrence Coleman was heading north on Gowrie in a 1997 Buick when he collided with a 1992 Freightliner semi driven by 72-year-old John Rouse of Ayrshire which was slowing to turn into the elevator. The car was then dragged by the semi into the Pro Coop Elevator.
Coleman and 80-year-old Bernadine Coleman were taken by Ruthven and Emmetsburg Ambulance to the Palo Alto County Hospital before being transferred to the Mason City Hospital. The Buick was deemed a total loss with minor damage done to the freightliner.
The Ruthven Fire Department and Iowa DCI assisted on scene.
Ellsworth, MN (KICD)--A one car accident in Nobles County Saturday night ends with injuries to an Ellsworth, Minnesota teen.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the mishap took place just after 7:00 when 16-year-old Emily Timmer was heading east on 330th Street, west of Ellsworth, when she lost control, ran off the road into the left ditch, and rolled.
Timmer was treated at the Luverne Hospital and released. Her 2002 Chevy Impala was totaled.
Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)--A young girl is taken to the hospital following a Monday morning accident at the S curve of Highway 86.
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office says Dulci McGuire was enter the southbound section of the S curve of Highway 86 when the Ford Aerostar went into the gravel portion of the roadway on the stateline. McGuire overcorrected, crossed the centerline, and rolled the van into the east ditch before coming to rest on the van's wheels.
Four-Year-Old Grace McGuire was taken to Lakes Regional with what are being described as non-incapacitating injuries.
Orange City, IA (KICD)--Vandalism lands an Inwood man in the Sioux County jail.
Earlier this month 19-year-old Derrick Minor allegedly damaged both sides of a parked car to the tune of an estimated $2,800. The car was parked 3.5 miles northwest of Fairview, South Dakota - which is in Sioux County.
A class D felony charge of 2nd degree criminal mischief was filed against Minor.
Ashton, IA (KICD)--A burglary charge is filed against a Doon man in connection with a late September burglary at Pete's in Ashton.
On Tuesday 39-year-old Jeremy Rutledge of Doon was charged with 3rd degree burglary - a class D felony. Rutledge is currently being held in Lyon County jail on similar charges.
