Emmetsburg, IA (KICD)--A trio of Emmetsburg teens face arson charges in connection with a number of fires set at vacant farm sites over the past couple of years.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff's Office says the first reports came in July of 2007 with arson fires set on vacant farm sites in West Bend Township near the Pocahontas County line. Since that time a total of 13 arson blazes were set with the final fire report from Rush Lake Township on July 6th of this year. Nearly $250,000 in damage to old farm houses, building sites, vehicles, and machinery was accrued during this timeframe.

On Monday 19-year-old Lucas Ezarski was charged with 2nd degree arson - a class C felony - and 5th degree theft of property from the Rush Lake site. 17-year-old Mason Hoffman is charged with two counts of 2nd degree arson in connection with the Rush Lake and Freedom Township fires and 5th degree theft of property from the Rush Lake site. 18-year-old Jacob Firkins is charged with 2nd degree arson for the Freedom Township blaze.

Those assisting include the State Fire Marshal's Offices, Fire Departments from West Bend, Mallard, Emmetsburg, Graettinger, and Rodman, the Pocahontas County Sheriff's Office, and Palo Alto County Attorney's Office.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Two face prostitution charges in Storm Lake.

After investigation of an alleged sexual assault at 708 Russell Street it was determined that a prostitution buisiness was being run at the home. Last Wednesday 45-year-old George Owen and 37-year-old Carl Tillman of Lakeside along with 44-year-old Sally Gist of the aforementioned residence were each booked into Buena Vista County jail on a prostitution charge. Bond for was set at $2,000 cash for each.

Everly, IA (KICD)--Seven juveniles suffer possible injuries in a deer versus car accident in the early hours Sunday morning.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office says a 16-year-old girl from Hartley was heading north in the 3300 block of 160th Avenue when she swerved to miss a deer that came onto the road. The 1998 Grand Am then slid sideways into the east ditch embankment where it came to rest.

The driver was cited for failure to maintain control and a male passenger did not have a seat belt on.

Spencer, IA (KICD)--Alcohol charges are levied following a traffic stop by the Clay County Sheriff's Office shortly before 11:00 Saturday night.

The female driver was only 15-years-old and was driving on an instruction permit. A 16-year-old girl in the front seat, three other juveniles, and 21-year-old Casey Burnell were found to have been drinking. A Deputy found where they had been drinking and went to one of the boy's home's to seize the alcohol.

Upon further investigation, it was found that Burnell had bought the alcohol. She was placed under arrest and charged with Making Alcohol Available to Minors. The juvenile female driver was cited and released for Underage Tobacco Possession and for Violation of Instruction Permit Limitations. The juvenile female passenger was cited and released for Permitting an Unauthorized Minor to Drive. Three juvenile males were cited into juvenile court for underage alcohol possession and released to the custody of their parents or other responsible adults.
