Paullina, IA (KICD)--Information from an O'Brien County accident that took place last Wednesday has been released.
Shortly before 6:00 p.m. 16-year-old Jonathon Crowhurst of Primghar was heading north on Redwing Avenue in a 1991 Chevy Camaro. 30-year-old Scott Wallin of Paullina was making a left turn into a farm drive at this time when his 1998 Case tractor was struck in the rear, rolling the tractor before coming to a rest on the passenger side. The Camaro came to rest on the roadway facing east.
Both drivers were taken to Baum Harmon Hospital with what are described as non-incapacitating injuries by Paullina Ambulance. The Camaro sustained $3,600 in damage. The tractor damage estimate came to $27,000. Crowhurst was cited for failure to maintain control.
The mishap took place a half mile north of Paullina.
Wallingford, IA (KICD)--An Emmet County accident caused by swerving to miss a deer in the road lead to the spilling of dead pigs into a ditch.
The Iowa State Patrol says 30-year-old Todd McQuown of Estherville lost control of a rendering dump semi at N-40 and Ingham Lake Road. The semi rolled onto it's side and spilled a load of dead pigs into a ditch.
The mishap caused $40,000 in damage with McQuown cited for failure to maintain control. The accident took place at 6:30 Monday night with the Emmet County Sheriff's Office and Wallingford Fire and Rescue assisting on scene.
Doon, IA (KICD)--A Doon man faces multiple burglary charges after Lyon County Deputies impound his car and get a search warrant for his home.
Following investigation 39-year-old Jeremy Rutledge was charged with 3rd degree burglary in connection with a burglary at Icon Ag Solutions last month, another burglary in the 3rd degree and 5th degree criminal mischief for damage done to the Otter Valley Golf Course in September, and 3rd degree attempted burglary at the Last Call Saloon in George in September. Two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon were levied after a shotgun and 556 shotgun shells were found at Rutledge's home.
Additional charges are pending.
Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)--A short foot chase by Spirit Lake Police after a theft from the Hy Vee leads to a number of charges against a pair of 18-year-olds.
Shortly before 1:00 Tuesday morning Shaun Fox and Joshua Currier of Spirit Lake allegedly took two cases of beer from the storm. They were found hiding a few blocks away and were arrested after a short foot pursuit.
Both were booked into Dickinson County jail on charges of 5th degree theft, public intoxication, interference with official acts, possession under legal age, and littering. It was the 2nd Public intoxication charge for Fox.
Dickinson County Sheriff's Officers and Okoboji Police assisted.
