Election Day



Spencer, IA (KICD)--Voters nationwide will head to the polls today for this year's general election.

Clay County Auditor Marge Pitts says this is the 2nd time they will use the electronic election register to handle voting.

In Spencer there is a contested race between Dave Scott and Randy Plagman for an at large city council spot. All voting in Spencer takes place at the Clay County Regional Events Center from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Everly voters will vote during the same time at the Hap Ketelson Center with Bud Meyer and Keith Fliss up for Mayor. Tabitha Howe, Johnnie L. King, Bill Burgeson, and Becky Smoot looking to fill two spots on the Royal Council. Voting will begin at noon at the Royal Community Center. The Webb Community Center will be open from 7:00-8:00 p.m. with Ken Essick and Mindy Sylvester vying to be Mayor. Peterson voters will choose a new Mayor between Scott Brown and Jennifer Samson. Their polling place is at the Peterson Community Center with polls open at noon. The Greenville Community Center will open for voting at noon and stay open till 8:00 p.m. Casey Lawson and Kenny Stewart are up for the position of Mayor.
