Spencer, IA (KICD)--A Terril woman is injured in a semi versus minivan accident at the North Y in Spencer.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office says Levi Griffin of Holstein has heading west on 18 in a 2009 Peterbuilt Semi when he came to a stop for the stop sign at Highway 71. Amy Hildreth of Terril was heading south on 71 in a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country van when Griffin pulled into the intersection and was hit by Hildreth. Griffin says he did not see the minivan. The semi, which received $35,000 in damage, came to rest about 100 feet west of the intersection. Griffin's minivan came to a stop just west of the intersection. Her damage estimate came to $15,000. She was treated and released for minor injuries and complained of pain
Griffin was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
Spencer, IA (KICD)--An OWI accident during the noon hour Saturday sends a Spirit Lake man to the hospital.
Spencer Police say the accident took place in the 400 block of West 7th Street. 52-year-old Kim Tjebben (Chae-Ben) was heading east on 7th in a 1990 Nissan Pickup as 32-year-old Angela Bosma was following in a 2004 Buick Century. A witness said Bosma was driving from one side of the road to the other, nearly hitting the curbs on both sides of the street. Bosma then rear ended Tjebben's car without hitting the brakes or attempting to avoid the mishap.
Tjebben was taken by Spencer Ambulance to Spencer Hospital with what are being described as non-incapacitating injuries. His truck was totaled.
Bosma, who had a breathalyser reading of .303, was charged with OWI 2nd offense and failure to maintain control. Her car was totaled as well.
Spencer, IA (KICD)--Spencer Police recently made a number of unrelated arrests.
Looking at the arrest log 18-year-old Marcus Ketham of Spencer was arrested Saturday on a theft charge. 23-year-old Jasmine Englekes of Spencer was arrested Saturday on possession charges of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. 22-year-old Devin Guzman of Spencer was arrested on a 2nd degree theft charge on Saturday and 34-year-old Francisco Grajales-Morales of Spencer was arrested Sunday on a theft charge.
Rock Valley, IA (KICD)--A Rock Valley woman has been arrested for filing a false report to the Sheriff's office.
Sioux County deputies charged 62 year old Arlene G. Driesen (DREE sen) after she reported a alleged burglary at her home October third.
Driesen claimed someone entered her home while she was sleeping and removed a safe, forced it open and took between 75 and 100 thousand dollars of her money.
Investigators say they checked the story and found it to be bogus
Driesen was held in the Sioux County Jail until an appearance in magistrate's court.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--An alleged sexual abuse reported in September in Storm Lake has ended up with an arrest.
Police say the victim was a 13 year old girl. Investigators say the incident happened at an apartment in the 400 block of West 8th Street.
Sixteen year old Christian Monsivais of Storm Lake was arrested October 9th. He's charged with third degree sexual assault which is a class C forcible felony.
Authorities charged him as an adult. Moncivais is being held on a 10 thousand dollar cash bond in the Buena Vista County Jail.
Detectives say the case is still under investigation.
