O'Brien County Reports

Primghar, IA (KICD)--The O'Brien County Sheriff's Office has released information from a September 26th accident.

Authorities says 16-year-old Britanny Schubert of Estherville was eastbound on 360th Street a quarter mile east of Yew Avenue when she fell asleep. Schubert was eastbound on the westbound shoulder when she woke up and overcorrected and cut across the roadway. She then entered the eastbound ditch and went up the ditch and field driveway embankment causing the vehicle to come to rest on the passenger side. Hartley Fire and Rescue extricated Schubert.

Schubert was taken to Spencer Hospital by Hartley Ambulance with possible injuries.

Primghar, IA (KICD)--A pair of separate business sign thefts are being investigated by the O'Brien County Sheriff's Office.

The first took place around September 8th along O’Brien County blacktop B-40 in east central O’Brien County. Two signs with the name "Maurer Manufacturing" were taken after the suspects unscrewed them from the posts. The signs posts were not damaged in the incident. The signs would have a blue background with white lettering.

The second incident occurred on Sunday evening September 27th into the early morning hours of September 28th. The suspects removed a large business sign for "D&S Performance" that was posted at the corner of 390th St and Pierce Ave five miles west of Primghar. This sign was approximately four foot high by eight foot wide. It had a black background and orange lettering. The name D&S Performance was centered on it with a car motor pictured on each side.

A $200 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whomever took the signs.
