Rolfe Burglaries

Rolfe, IA (KICD)--Two from Fort Dodge face a multitude of charges.

Pocahontas County Sheriff Bob Lampe says the pair, 19-year-old Kyle Martin and 18-year-old Colton Canavan came to a 92-year-old Rolf man's door at 5:00 Monday morning saying their car broke down and they had to use the telephone. One kept the man busy while the other took cash and various antiques from the man's bedroom. He realized he had been robbed after they left.

Another report from a Rolfe home came in. Officers arrived and found the suspects with the aforementioned stolen goods. After investigation it was found that the two had been involved in various vehicle burglaries in Rolfe and Gilmore City and operation without the owner's consent from Rolfe.

Both men face a class C felony charge of 2nd degree burglary of an occupied residence, operation of a motor vehicle without the owner's consent, and 4 counts each of burglary of an unoccupied vehicle. Each are being held in Pocahontas County jail on a $20,000 bond. Additional charges are pending the ongoing investigation.
