Spencer, IA (KICD)--An Ayrshire teen is sent to the hospital following a one car rollover in the 330 block of 420th Street.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office says 15-year-old Damon Morris lost control and entered the north ditch which caused the 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix to roll and come to rest on its roof.
Morris was taken to the Emmetsburg Hospital and released with minor bruises. The damage estimate came to $8,000.
Both were booked into Dickinson County jail.
Spencer, IA(KICD)--A pair of accidents take place due to 30 black angus calves on the road.
Jenny Hanson was heading north on Clay County blacktop N-14 about six miles south of Terril when she struck and killed three of the thirty calves.
The mishap occurred about 100 feet north of 290th Street at 11:10 Friday night. This caused $2,000 worth of damage to her 1999 Chrysler Mini-van.
Then just before midnight Jay Allen of Iowa City struck and killed three more in the same location. His 2003 Chevy Pickup had a damage estimate of $15,000.
Sioux Center, IA (KICD)--A Sheldon man faces charges after a a pursuit involving the Sioux and O'Brien County Sheriff's Office Saturday morning.
An O’Brien County Deputy attempted to stop 45-year-old Sean Gallaugher for a traffic violation near Archer. The pursuit covered several miles over gravel roads across Sioux County before stop sticks were deployed one mile southeast of Sioux Center. The vehicle came to a stop six miles southeast of Sioux Center on Harrison Avenue at which point Gallaugher fled on foot into a cornfield.
A search was conducted with help from the Iowa State Patrol, Sioux Center Police Department, and Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, and K-9 units from both Sioux County and Plymouth County.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A report of vandalism Saturday lands a Storm Lake woman in the Buena Vista County jail.
The victim told Storm Lake Police his estranged wife,44-year-old Maria Lovan, allegedly struck his 1999 Dodge Durango multiple times with a metal pipe. He says he was staying with a friend and was reportedly woke up by the noise of the damage being committed to his truck. Total caost of the damage is estimated at $2,000
After investigation Lovan was charged with 2nd degree criminal mischief - a class D felony. She was booked into jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)--Two face drug charges after a Sunday night search of a Spirit Lake home.
Spirit Lake Police were called out for a trespassing complaint. A green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found leading to possession charges of both filed against 47-year-old Valerie Loerch of Spirit Lake and 45-year-old David Hughes of Spencer. Hughes was also charged with trespassing and interference acts.
