Armstrong House Fire

Armstrong, IA (KICD)--A Saturday evening blaze at an Armstrong home lands a man in the hospital.

Armstrong Firefighters went to 809 A. Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m. where they encountered flames showing through the front of the home. The blaze had spread through the home. A man was found in the back of the residence at which time a firefighter and Emmet County Deputy pulled him from the home and began lifesaving measures. The man was taken to the local hospital before being lifeflighted to the McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Investigation into the cause is ongoing and it is noted there is no reason to believe this is a fire with suspicious circumstances. The home and most of its contents are considered a total loss.
