February 10 (Wed) -- Commercial Ag Weed, Insect and Plant Disease Continuing Instruction Course at the Dickinson County Extension Office in Spirit Lake and Emmet County Extension Office in Estherville. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. with the course running from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $35 if you are registered by February 3rd or $45 after that date. February 23 (Tues) -- Annie's Project hosted by Emmet County ISU Extension. This educational opportunity for women meets for 6 consecutive Tuesday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. at the E-LC High School in Estherville. arch 15 (Mon) -- Iowa State University Extension will sponsor a study session to help persons prepare to take the exams for Pesticide Applicator Certification. Persons who desire to purchase and apply restricted use pesticides on land they own or operate need a Private Pesticide Applicator Certification. Individuals who apply pesticides for hire need a Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification. The training session will be held at the Kossuth County Extension office in Algona. The study session for the Private Pesticide Certification will begin at 1:15 and conclude at 2:15. The study session for the Commercial Pesticide Applicators will begin at 2:30 and conclude at 4:30. The session for Commercial Applicators will cover the Core Manual and the Ag categories 1A - Ag Weed, 1B - Ag Insect, 1C- Ag Disease or 4 - Seed Treatment. Cost is $15.00 for either the Private or Commercial sessions. This training session does not qualify as a continuing instructional course.
