Spencer, IA (KICD)--The City of Spencer is inviting all community members to attend the Complete Streets Community Workshops.
Complete Streets ensures that transportation planners and engineers consistently design and operate the entire roadway with all users in mind – including bicyclists, public transportation vehicles and riders, and pedestrians of all ages and abilities, resulting in road networks that are safer, more livable, and welcoming to everyone. A Complete Streets implementation plan will be utilized for roadways in need of repair and/or replacement.
Tonight's (Wednesday's) workshop will include a presentation about Complete Streets principles. There will also be an opportunity for community members to provide input. On Thursday participants will hear an initial vision and recommendations for incorporating Complete Streets principles in Spencer.
Tonight's Complete Streets Community Workshop takes place from 5:30-7:00 with Thursday's Community Open House running from 4:30-6:00 p.m. Both sessions take place in the Council Chamber of Spencer City Hall.
