The festivities kick off Thursday evening with the Student and Alumni Talent Show. The show is hosted by the Emmetsburg High School Vocal Music Department at 8:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
The annual Miss Shamrock Pageant will be held at the high school auditorium on Friday night from 7-9. The Iowa State Celtic Dance Society will perform.
A full Saturday of activities is highlighted by the famous St. Patrick's Day Parade. Ned Munn tells KICD News he was notified on a recent stormy night that he would serve as Grand Marshall.
Munn received a number of nominations including one from his daughter, Molly Veldbloom.
Munn has Irish ancestors who came in through Ellis Island and came across the prairie with some of them holding up in Dyersville. The younger men continued westward to Homestead Property.
Munn has been in charge of the Irish Stew dinner for the past 14 years.
