AR-Sentral Reorganization



Armstrong, IA (KICD)--The Armstrong-Ringsted and Sentral school districts are moving forward in the reorganization process.

Armstrong-Ringsted Superintendent Matt Berninghaus that both districts have filed the paperwork with the Area Education Agency and are looking at an April 10th public hearing on the matter.

Berninghaus says reorganization wold mean around $1 million in incentives for both districts over the next three years.

Currently Armstrong-Ringsted, Sentral, and North Kossuth are in the first year of a whole grade sharing agreement. This agreement will stay in place for the coming school year.

A vote for reorganization amongst Armstrong-Ringsted and Sentral will take place in either June or September. If that vote is successful the reorganization would be in place for the 2014-2015 school year with the schools taking on the North Union name. At that time a whole grade sharing agreement between North Union and North Kossuth would be renegotiated .
