Spencer School Board



Spencer, IA (KICD) -- Projects and numbers were topics of discussion at the Spencer School Board meeting.
At Tuesday night's meeting, the board got to see proposed projects for Johnson Elementary School, both for the parking as well as school improvements to the school. Superintendent Terry Heeman shares some details on what the board saw...

 
The Johnson Elementary Parking project was shown to the board, and one of the improvements made will be the increase of parking spots from 26 to 102, as well as coordinated driving route in the parking lot.

A look at what's next for the Reynolds Elementary building was gone over by the board, with a public hearing scheduled for March 12th to discuss the school reacquiring the property back from Tony Kuriel, who had acquired the building back in 2007..

Heeman also shared with the board items being discussed in the Legislature, as far as education goes, mainly allowable growth...

The board will have public meetings to discuss the Reynolds Building situation, along with Johnson Elementary projects, in March.
