Grain Donation Will Help Restore West Bend Grotto

Spencer, IA: (Feb. 21, 2013) - The Grotto of the Redemption, located in West Bend, has received a substantial grain donation from an anonymous donor who is challenging area farmers to meet or beat the initial contribution.

An initial gift of 500 bushels of corn came from a local resident who has agreed to match additional contributions up to 2000 bushels.

Darcie Kramer, Executive Director of the Grotto, says an account to receive donations has been established at Max Yield Cooperative in West Bend.

Anyone wishing to contribute to the grain challenge is asked to contact the Grotto to begin the donation process. Kramer says IRS rules state donors must transfer the ownership of the gain to the Grotto first.
Kramer says the funds raised will be used toward restoration of the Grotto.
