Storm Lake, IA (KICD) -- The City of Storm Lake has taken steps to deal with an increasing problem.

The City Administration has authorized the hiring of Critter Getter Wildlife Control L.L.C. of Alta, to live trap the birds and remove them from the city limits. As far as the pigeons, while they are not an aggressive type bird, the problem Prosser says is the mess, and for multiple reasons...
Critter Getter will begin the process this week with trapping and removal of the birds continuing until further notice. Prosser said it's going to be a faurly lengthy process, getting the pigeons cleaned out of the business district...
Seven rooftop locations have been identified as "hotspot" locations for the birds and live traps will be placed at all seven locations.
The City of Storm Lake will fund the project via the Animal Control Budget which is a component of the Public Safety budgets.
