Orleans, IA (KICD)--The State Fire Marshall's office is unable to pinpoint a cause of Sunday's house fire in Orleans.
Spirit Lake fire chief Dave Kollasch - whose department battled the blaze for 3 hours Sunday afternoon - tells KICD News the cause of the fire will be listed as "undetermined" on the official report.
As we reported yesterday - the family living at 184 Beach Street attempted to put out the fire before exiting the home and phoning 9-1-1. Kollasch says the fire was in a wall between the kitchen and living room and says the house is pretty much a total loss.
