Eggs & Issues



Spencer, IA (KICD)--The first Spencer Eggs & Issues session featured discussion on a number of topics.

Transportation funding elicited some candid responses from the legislators as seemingly everyone agrees that something must be done, including House District 1 Representative Jeff Smith of Okoboji.

House District 3 Representative Dan Huseman of Aurelia noted that around three quarters of the roadways and bridge in the state are under control of cities and counties, and says that is a major issue.

 
House District 2 Representative Megan Hess of Spencer is not thoroughly convince that the Iowa DOT is using their dollars as effectively as they can.

 
District 1 State Senator David Johnson of Ocheyedan is co-sponsoring a bill that would take one percent of of the state's annual revenues and allocate that money to the constitutionally protected state road use tax fund.
