Emmetsburg Superintendent John Joynt tells KICD News the proposal on the table would being with partial day sharing and eventually lead to whole grade sharing starting in the 2017-2018 school year.
Other items on the table include merging athletics to Emmetsburg in the 2014-2015 school year and having one Superintendent for both districts.
Ruthven-Ayrshire Superintendent Andrew Woiwood says they are on board with the gradual funding increases over the next several years for partial day sharing. The R-A School Board would like to see the partial day sharing agreement be in place for the long term.
A counter offer has been tabled as Graettinger-Terril is back in discussions and will come up with a financial and course offering package for partial day sharing.
The Ruthven-Ayrshire school board will meet this coming Monday with G-T's numbers to be present. The board will likely take action on a response to Emmetsburg's sharing offer at this time.
