Alta, IA (KICD)--A pair of arrests have been made in connection to a six month investigation into the manufacturing of methamphetamine in Storm Lake and other areas within Buena Vista County.

With help from the Storm Lake Public Safety Lab Response Unit and the Alta Fire Department, the Buena Vista County Sheriffs Department and Storm Lake Police Department executed a search warrant at 117 North Main Street #10 in Alta on Sunday afternoon. Officers allege they located and seized evidence of a clandestine methamphetamine lab at this time. Technicians and investigators located and seized items used to manufacture methamphetamine, methamphetamine finished product, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. A pair of 20-year-olds, Dylan Gustafson and Damien Fischer, were subsequently taken into custody.

A consent search of Fischer's home at 117 East 10th Street in Storm Lake was conducted on Sunday night. Marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and methamphetamine manufacturing by-products were found and seized.

Gustafson and Fischer have each been charged with a class B felony count of Conspiracy to Manufacture More than 5 Grams of Methamphetamine; a class C felony charge of Manufacturing Methamphetamine; and a class D felony count of Possession of Precursors. Both were booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $155,000 cash bond each

Others assisting include the Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office and the Iowa Department of Human Services as it is believed that an infant resides at the mobile home in Alta. The child was not present at the time the search warrant was executed.

The investigation is ongoing.

Estherville, IA (KICD) -- A Graettinger woman is injured in an accident, after losing control of her car.

The Estherville Police Department says the mishap occurred around 11:45 Sunday morning, at the railroad underpass on South 9th Street in Estherville. 64-year old Ruth Albrant was driving a 2005 Chevrolet southbound on South 9th Street, and as she got to the railroad underpass, the vehicle started to slide.

Albrant tried to correct by turning the wheel, but the vehicle kept sliding, thencollided with the concrete wall, before spinning around, and winding up in the est ditch.

Albrant complained of neck and lower back pain, and was transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital, bye Eatherville Ambulance.

Paullina, IA (KICD) -- A Primghar teen is arrested on sexual abuse charges.

Paullina Police arrested 19-year old Skylar Ellis Tuesday morning, charging him with 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse. the charges stem from an incident involving a 15-year old female. He was booked into the O'Brien County Jail, and was released after posting bond.

The arrest was made as part of an ongoing investigation.

Spencer, IA (KICD)--A Friday night traffic stops lead to drug charges against a pair of Storm lake men.

A Clay County Deputy made the stop for an equipment violation and found open containers inside the van. Upon further investigation Deputies located some pot.

21-year-old David Martinez and 18-year-old Rey Martinez were subsequently charged with possession of marijuana. David was also wanted on a Buena Vista County warrant for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men were booked into Clay County jail.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Child endangerment charges have been levied against two from Storm Lake.

Storm Lake Police were called out in reference to a four year old child being found outside on Friday afternoon. The 4-year-old boy was found in the front yard at 220 Superior Street dressed in a coat but with no gloves on. The boy was apparently waiting for his mother to pick him up. Upon returning to the Superior Street area police located the boy’s mother, 37-year-old Rosario Limones, looking for the child.

It is alleged that the young boy was being watched by his grandmother, 59-year-old Elba Gomez-Toscano. Gomez called her daughter and said had to go to work. Limonez allegedly told Gomez to put in a movie and leave the child home alone until she got to the residence. Gomez reportedly then departed the residence and left the young child unsupervised. The child managed to exit the residence in 20 degree weather sometime between 3:30pm when the grandmother left and 4:51pm when the police were notified by the reporting party. The child did not appear to be harmed or suffering from any exposure related injuries.

Both adults have been charged with Child Endangerment. They were both booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond each.

The child was placed in the care of his stepfather.
A report has been made to the Iowa Department of Human Services.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A Storm Lake man has been arrested for stealing a lottery ticket.

Storm Lake Police were called to Dyno’s Store, at Lakeshore and Flindt Drive, on Sunday afternoon. In reviewing the security video police recognized the suspect as 19-year-old Kevon Spratt. Police located Spratt at a home withing the hour and he attempted to flee into the residence but was subdued in the front yard.

Following an investigation police charged Spratt with a class D felony count of Lottery Fraud and Interference With Official Acts. He was He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
