District Judge Appointed



Sioux City, IA (KICD) -- A court judge with listening area ties is appointed for the Third Judicial District.

   It was announced Thursday, that Julie Schumacher was appointed as District Associate Court Judge.  Schumacher graduated from Spalding Catholic High School.

   Judge-elect Schumacher lives in Crawford County. She has been in private practice since 1993 and serves as an Assistant County Attorney for Crawford County and Assistant City Attorney for the City of Denison.  She then attended the University of South Dakota where she earned her bachelor's degree and went on to earn her law degree from Creighton University School of Law.

  She has served on the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission, the Iowa Supreme Court Unauthorized Practice of Law Commission, and on the Iowa Supreme Court Board of Bar Examiners.
  Schumacher will be sworn in as a district associate judge of the Third Judicial District at an investiture ceremony at the Woodbury County Courthouse, Courtroom 201, on Friday, February 15, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.,
