Wanata Park Bridge Work



Peterson, IA (KICD)--Work on the Wanata Park bridge is slated to be performed and completed this year.

Clay County Conservation Director Dan Heissel tells KICD News that the bridge between Wanata Park and the city of Peterson has been out of service since last Summer.

 
The bridge is owned by the Iowa DNR and they are working with the Iowa DOT to put this roughly $400,000 project up for bids.

The project will be paid for with a mixture of state park/road use funds from the DNR and FEMA funding with no cost to Clay County.

Heissel adds that the bridge closure has led to a pretty lengthy detour for those who live southeast of Peterson.
