Project Liberty Informational Meetings Start This Week

Spencer, IA: (Jan 07, 2013) - Informational meetings will begin this week for farmers and landowners who may be interested in supplying corn stover to POET-DSM’s Project Liberty cellulosic ethanol plant near Emmetsburg.

Biomass Coordinator Randall Pelzer explains what will happen at Project Liberty.

Pelzer says meetings this week will be in Laurens and Fenton, where he will answer questions from potential suppliers about Project Liberty.

Wednesday’s meeting will be in Laurens at the Pizza Ranch. The meeting on Thursday will be at the North Star in Fenton. Both meetings start at 10:30 a.m. Pelzer talks about the types of contracts that are offered by Project Liberty.

Pelzer says it will take about 300-thousand stover bales to supply the plant for one year. He expects Project Liberty is on schedule to begin commercial operations this time next year.
