According to the online Dickinson County Jail roster Ryan Dykstra was booked early this (Monday) morning on charges of meth possession and failure to obey a stop sign.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A number of drug charges are filed following a Sunday evening traffic stop of a Storm Lake man.
Storm Lake Police stopped 20-year-old Gilbert Palomares Jr. and allegedly detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A small amount of pot was found inside the car and on Palomares. Police additionally located alcohol in the vehicle and seized it.
Police arrested Palomares for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,600 cash bond.
An early Monday morning search of Palomares’s residence turned up additional marijuana packaged for street sales and additional drug paraphernalia.
Additional charges are pending.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A Storm Lake teen was arrested last week after being caught with pot.
On Friday afternoon Police were called to the Storm Lake Middle School after a small amount of marijuana was found on the floor in the men’s restroom near the school commons area. An investigation alleges that 13-year-old Miguel Jimenez was seen near the restroom and was allegedly in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia on his person. He was charged with possession of both.
Jimenez was processed and then transported to the Youth Detention Facility in Cherokee pending a court date.
The case has been forwarded to the Juvenile Court Authority
Early, IA (RI)--The body found in a residence near Early has been identified as the mother of the man arrested in connection with a kidnapping incident.
Sac County Sheriff Ken McClure says the woman has been identified as 45-year-old Marilyn Schmitt of Early. He says Schmitt is the mother of 21-year-old Kirk Levin and lived at the house where her body was found on Thursday morning. Law enforcement officials are awaiting autopsy results on Schmitt’s body. Levin was arrested by the Sac County Sheriff’s Office on charges of kidnapping, assault while participating in a felony, and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse. The charges were filed in connection with the reported kidnapping of a woman from her home in Storm Lake on Thursday morning. The woman was reportedly taken by Levin to his mother’s residence, about a half-mile from where she was found attempting to flee from a vehicle. Authorities believe Schmitt had been dead for about two days.
Until recently, Levin had been incarcerated in a state prison on a 2010 Sac County burglary conviction. Levin appeared in Sac County magistrate Court yesterday (Friday) morning where his bond was set at 200-thousand dollars. He remains in the Sac County Jail.
Sutherland, IA (KICD)--A Sutherland man has been arrested for aggravated domestic assault.
Last week Sutherland Police arrested 40-year-old Gregory Schubert for domestic abuse assault with intent or while displaying a weapon according to online court records.
Schubert was released on a $2,000 unsecured appearance bond.
