Whitesnake drummer Brian Tichy breaks collarbone

Whitesnake drummer Brian Tichy is recovering after breaking his collarbone while mountain biking over the weekend.

The rocker, who has also worked with Ozzy Osbourne and Foreigner, was forced to bow out of a Las Vegas concert with The Moby Dicks on New Year's Eve after severely injuring his clavicle.

Taking to Twitter to alert fans of his condition and thank Quiet Riot star Frankie Banali for stepping in as his replacement, he wrote, "Typin with yor (your) arm in a sling after u get back from (the) er (Emergency Room) after wipin on your mtn. bike n breakin yor collarbone jus sux (sucks). so much for playing drums new year's in vegas with The Moby Dicks. But Tichy plans to be well enough to perform at the Bonzo Bash NAMM Jamm in Anaheim, California on Jan. 24.

He adds, "My year will b all uphill from here. I'll be c-in (seeing) my healer wizard Dr. morovati tomoro (tomorrow) and get this bs (bulls**t) out the way asap. I will be back on gtr (guitar) real soon and drums right after, full on at the bonzo bash (sic)!"
