Primghar, IA (KICD)--New information from the O'Brien County Sheriff on a December 7th accident.
Shortly after 5:00 p.m. 48-year-old David Groen of Sheldon and 33-year-old Marique Loewen of Sanborn were both heading east on Highway 18. Groen signaled to make a right turn and went to the side of the road in the turn lane. Loewen was unable to swerve to avoid a collision due to the icy road conditions and rear-ended Groen.
Loewen and his passenger, 23-year-old Tyler Enger of Sanborn, received minor injuries and were taken to Sanford Sheldon Hospital by Sheldon Ambulance.
All involved were wearing safety restraints.
Emmetsburg, (KICD)--Drug charges are filed against an Emmetsburg teen.
19-year-old Vance Yates III was issued a juvenile referral on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Yates was taken to the Emmetsburg Police Department and held awaiting transport to the juvenile detention center.
Emmetsburg, IA (KICD)--A Minnesota man is arrested by Emmetsburg Police on Friday.
25-year-old William Bingen of Alpha was wanted on a valid Palo Alto County warrant for 1st degree harassment.
Bingen was unable to post the $6,500 cash or surety bond and was booked into Palo Alto County jail.
Orange City, IA (KICD)--A Sioux Falls woman has been sentenced to ten years in prison.
Sioux County Attorney Coleman J. McAllister says 42-year-old Sharla Porter was sentenced on Monday in Sioux County District Court on a class C felony charge of 1st degree theft.
Last December a Rock Valley couple contacted the Rock Valley Police Department to report that their daughter had stolen some blank checks from them. The total amount of the forged checks was over $5,700 and officers further discovered Porter had also stolen over $20,000 from her parents’ bank accounts by fraudulently setting up a PayPal account in her parents’ name and then using the PayPal account to pay for items she purchased by fraudulently accessing funds in her parents’ bank account in Rock Valley.
Porter pled guilty and has been ordered to pay restitution.
