Trey Songz faces assault charges over strip club clash
Trey Sonz is facing misdemeanor assault and harassment charges following an incident at a New York strip club over the summer.
The "Bottoms Up" hitmaker, real name Tremaine Neverson, was celebrating the release of his album "Chapter V" at Club Perfection in Woodhaven on August 22 when he allegedly became involved in an altercation with clubgoer Donna McIntosh-Inoe after she snapped a picture of him on her cell phone.
McIntosh-Inoe claims she and her husband paid $700 to sit with Songz in the club's VIP section, but the night turned ugly after the singer took issue with having his photo taken without permission, and allegedly grabbed her mobile and tried to delete the image.
He is then said to have hurled a chunk of money at the woman in frustration - reportedly hitting her face in the process.
She tells the New York Daily News, "He chucked a wad of cash at me. A wad of cash. I didn't even know I had a bruise on my face until after I left the club. I had to walk around a whole week with a black eye."
McIntosh-Inoe insists she wasn't the only person snapping pictures of Songz - the strippers at the gentleman's club were taking photos too.
She continues, "Everyone else was taking a picture. The difference for me and the other girls is that they were naked and I had clothes on. He tried to delete the picture, but he didn't know how to use my phone... It was insulting that he just threw something. He was verbally disrespectful as well... He embarrassed me in front of everyone in the club."
McIntosh-Inoe reported the altercation to police, but Songz wasn't arrested until Sept. 20.
The official incident report reads: "Tremaine Neverson did throw a sum of United States currency at the complainant and said sum of United States currency struck the complainant's left eye causing substantial pain to her left eye."
An order of protection was issued against Songz during a hearing on Nov. 1 and he is due back in court in February to answer the accusations, reports TMZ.
News of the case only surfaced online on Saturday. The R&B hunk has yet to comment on the incident.
