Washington, D.C (MTN)--A number of area high schools have received national recognition from this year's Best High Schools list compiled by U.S. News & World Report.
MOC-Floyd Valley paced area schools checking in 1,556th out of nearly 22,000 schools that were evaluated earing a silver medal. They checked in 8th in Iowa overall and feature a 94 percent proficiency in math and reading.
Other schools from the listening area who received national recognition with no state ranking listed in alphabetical order include: Aurelia, Graettinger-Terril, Harris-Lake Park, Newell-Fonda, Okoboji , Sheldon, Sibley-Ocheyedan, Sioux Center, and Spirit Lake. Each of these schools received bronze medals.
