The Jackson County Sheriffs Office says the accident occurred Sunday, at the intersection of County Road 17 and 900th Street. A call came into the Sheriffs Office, and the caller reported a juvenile passenger had walked up to her house seeking help., and the driver was out of the vehicle walking somewhere.
After a short search, a second caller contacted the sheriff’s office and said the driver, 23-year old Jesse Crowell of rural Windom, had walked up to their house. The caller said they were going to transport him to Windom Area Hospital. The passenger was transported to the hospital by the Jackson Ambulance Department. Both Crowell and his passenger were treated and released.
The vehicle, a 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix, was located partially submerged in water, and was considered a total loss.
The Jackson Fire Department assisted at the scene of the accident, which remains under investigation.
