The Clay County Sheriff says 55-year-old Carl Burger of Laurens and 56-year-old Daniel Anthofer were traveling south on M-54 in the 5000 block. Burger began to make a right hand turn into a farm drive with his Peterbuilt Semi pulling a dump trailer when Anthofer ran into the side of the dump trailer with his 2006 Chevy C5500 service truck.
Anthofer was taken to Spencer Hospital by Spencer Ambulance with incapacitating injuries. He was cited for failure to stop in a safe distance.
Agencies assisting include the Iowa State Patrol, Iowa DOT, and Webb Fire Department.
Gruver, IA (KICD)--A Gruver man is taken to the hospital following a Tuesday morning accident.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says 48-year-old James Kent of Gruver was heading west on 180th Street near Gruver. Kent ran across some deer in the roadway, swerved to miss them, and landed in the south ditch where his trick rolled onto its side.
Kent was taken to Avera Holy Family by private vehicle with minor injuries.
