Spencer, IA (KICD)--Spencer lost a pair of it's finest citizens this past Tuesday.
Joe Carroll ran Carroll's Bakery, which his father and Uncle traded a farm in Minnesota for in 1928. Colleen Thompson, who along with husband Paul purchased the Bakery from Carroll in 1999 tells KICD News the Joe and his sister Marge took over in 1951.
Thompson says Joe gave them a lot of help in the first six months of purchasing the business.
The other longtime Spencer resident in many hearts today is Ron Sears. Bob Rose shares some thoughts on Sears.
Sears, who ran Lundt & Sears Plumbing for 43 years and served on the Spencer City Council from 1988-1995, was in a poker club with Gary Tolzmann.
