St. James, MN (KICD)--A Paullina woman is hospitalized following a mishap near St. James, Minnesota.
State Patrol records show that at 6:16 Sunday evening a GMC SUV and pickup were both heading west on Highway 60 and collided when merging at the Watonwan County Road 27 overpass. 18-year-old Rachel Bird's 2007 GMC Yukon landed in the eastbound lane. The pickup came to rest in the northbound lane.
Bird was taken to an undocumented hospital with what are being described as non-life threatening injuries.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--Storm Lake Fire and Police are dispatched to the Tyson Fresh Meats Plant in reference to a report of an injured worker on a rooftop this morning.
At approximately 7:43 a.m. public safety personnel were directed to the “load out area” at the plant where an employee of a roof contractor had been struck by a pallet of materials as it was being lowered onto the roof top.
Fire fighters utilizing an aerial platform fire truck accessed the roof top and assisted by paramedics, successfully lowered the victim to the ground to a waiting ambulance.
Sheldon, IA (KICD)--A Sheldon man is arrested on a class C felony count of lascivious acts with a child.
Online records show a criminal complaint was filed with Sheldon Police against 32-year-old Charles Eden on October 29th. Eden was arrested on the charge last Tuesday and released on an unsecured appearance bond by giving his signature.
Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)--An early Saturday morning traffic stop is made by Spirit Lake Police for speeding.
After investigation 24-year-old Nathaniel Broadhead of Spencer was arrested on two counts of possession of marijuana 2nd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, OWI 2nd offense, speeding, and failure to prove security against liability.
Broadhead was booked into Dickinson County jail.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A wanted man turns himself in at the Storm Lake Police Station.
21-year-old Kailab Hendrickson of Cherokee was wanted out of Buena Vista County on a class D felony warrant charging him with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The victim, 29-year-old Jose Ramos of Des Moines transported to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center by paramedics for treatment.
Crews stayed on scene for approximately 30 minutes.
Laurens, IA (KICD)--Drug charges are filed against a Laurens man.
On November 2nd the Pocahontas County sheriff's Office and Laurens Police executed a search warrant. The search turned up pot and rug paraphernalia.
The resident , 33-year-old Kyan Grindley, was not home at the time of the search but was later arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Grindley was booked into county jail on a $1,300 bond
Sheldon, IA (KICD)--Area authorities are looking into a pig heist.
At 9:15 Sunday morning the Sioux County Sheriff's Office investigated a burglary that took place at a pig confinement, three miles south of Sheldon. Either Saturday evening or Sunday morning someone forced open a locked door to the confinement. Once inside, the person was able to load 155 to 165 finished pigs weighing between 265 to 270 pounds onto a semi trailer. The estimated value of the pigs is $38,000.
If you saw a semi-tractor with a livestock trailer near the intersection of Highway 6o and 360th Street during the time of this crime, you are asked to contact the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
Hull, IA (KICD)--A pair of burglaries take place at two separate construction businesses on Main Street in Hull.
Sometime during the overnight hours between Saturday and the early morning hours of
Monday someone forced open locked doors at two separate construction businesses. Once
inside, 15 aluminum cement trowel handle extensions were stolen from one of the businesses. Theapproximate value of the extensions is $600.
Anyone with information concerning this crime is asked to contact to the Sioux County Sheriff's Office.
