Law Enforcement Wrap



Spencer, IA (KICD) -- Two are arrested after a pursuit following a gas drive off.

The Spencer Police Department were called to a gas drive off at Dyno's in north Spencer, around 1:42 this (Monday) morning, resulting in a pursuit, which also involved the Clay County Sheriffs Department.
After the drive off, the suspect vehicle was located a short time later, at West 18th Street and 4th Avenue West. As the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, the vehicle fled, and and continued north on 4th Avenue West, and then the driver lost control of the vehicle in the 2100 block.

After going into the ditch, the vehicle then drove back out, trying to collide with the Police vehicle, then continuing south on 4th Avenue West. An attempt to drive through a yard failed, then in backing out, the vehicle collided with a Police vehicle.

The suspect car was eventually dumped in the 100 block of 6th Street, and the driver and a passenger fled the vehicle, being pursued on foot by officers. Both were eventually captured, but during the pursuit, an officer was injured falling onto a railroad tie.

During the capture, a taser was used on the driver, 43-year old Gregory Roush, whose last address was Minnesota. The female passenger, 28-year old Jamie Hayes, whose address is unknown, was taken into custody without further incident.

Roush was charged with Felony Eluding, OWI, 5th Degree Theft, Reckless Driving, and Criminal trespass, and other charges. Hayes was charged with Public Intoxication and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both were taken to the County Jail.

Boyden, IA (KICD)--An early Sunday morning mishap lands a Sheldon man in the hospital.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Zachary Butler was driving a 1992 Dodge Spirit westbound on Highway 18 west of Boyden at 5:45 a.m. Butler fell asleep, lost control of the vehicle, entered the south ditch and rolled.

Butler was transported to the Sheldon Hospital by the Hull Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. He was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.

Hull Firefighters assisted on scene.

Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)--Drug and drinking charges are filed by the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office.

On Sunday morning 22-year-old Michael Dendinger was booked on charges of Public Intoxication and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Spencer, IA (KICD)--A Spencer man is jailed for drinking and driving.

Shortly after 2:00 Sunday morning 33-year-old Zachary Hill was arrested by Spencer Police on a class D felony count of OWI 3rd offense & open container.

Hill was processed and placed in Clay County jail.
