Storm Lake Police took a report of a stolen credit card on Tuesday. It was found that the card had been used several times in the community without the owner’s knowledge or consent. Police located security footage at local stores of the suspects that provided suspect descriptions as well as a description of the suspect's vehicle.
23-year-old Johnathan Alterado was stopped on Tuesday night and was found to be in possession of the stolen credit card. Following an investigation police arrested Alterado and charged him with 2 counts of Unlawful Use of a Credit Card, Possession of Stolen Property, No Registration, Failure to Have Insurance, and No Valid Drivers License. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $4,300 cash bond.
Police later located a second suspect and arrested 24-year-old David Renteria-Rodriguez. He was charged with 3 class D felony counts of Forgery, Unlawful Use of a Credit Card, and Possession of Stolen Property. He was held in county jail on on an $11,300 cash bond.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)--A Storm Lake teen's parents turn their son in for possessing pot.
On Monday the parents of 16-year-old Christopher Ringgenberg reportedly located a quantity of marijuana in their son’s vehicle. They seized the marijuana and subsequently turned it over to law enforcement.
Christopher Ringgenberg was subsequently was charged with Possession of Marijuana. He was processed and released to his parents pending a court date.
Rock Valley, IA (KICD)--A felony domestic assault charge is filed following a Friday evening incident.
The Sioux County Sheriff alleges that 53-year-old Rodney Osterkamp committed an assault by
choking a person. Osterkamp left the area and could not be located. He was found following an early Saturday morning traffic stop that occurred in
Emmet County and was held at the Emmet County Jail. Osterkamp was later transported to the Sioux
County Jail where he was charged with a Class D felony count of domestic assault.
Sioux County Conservation and the Iowa State Patrol assisted.
Rock Valley, IA (KICD) -- An Alton man is injured in a two vehicle accident.
The Lyon County Sheriffs Office received the 911 call of an accident shortly before 6:30 Tuesday evening, at the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and 260th Street, north of Rock Valley.
19-year old Travis Even was driving north in a 2001 Dodge Ram pickup on Elmwood approaching the intersection with 260th Street. 48-year old Allen VanZanten of Rock Valley, was heading west in a farm truck on 260th approaching the intersection with Ironwood Avenue.
Even failed to Yield the Right of Way, entering the intersection, and was struck by VanZanten's work truck. Even was ejected from his vehicle and landed in the south ditch. Even was transported to Sioux Center Hospital to receive further medical treatment.
Assisting at the scene was the Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance and Rescue.
