Back Yard Driver

Storm Lake, IA (KICD) -- A Fort dodge man is arrested after taking a scenic route in his car.

Storm Lake Police said that around 2:30 Friday morning, 22-year old Jacob Peterson is accused of driving through a yard and over railroad tracks near Buena Vista University.  As a result, he was arrested on charges of OWI 2nd Offense, Failure To Maintain Control, and Striking a Fixture Adjacent to a Highway

According to Police, Peterson was driving south on Otsego Street, then crossed over West Fifth Street and kept driving even though the road had ended.  Peterson then drove over a set of railroad tracks, over a sidewalk, through a yard and then hit a dead end sign south of the railroad crossing, police say.

The Police report says Peterson then drove nine blocks to the Budget Host Inn on North Lake Avenue, losing all four wheels of his vehicle.

He remained in the Buena Vista County Jail in Storm Lake on Friday morning
