Tyson Launches Program To Monitor Livestock Treatment

Spencer, IA: (Oct 12, 2012) - Tyson Foods is launching a new program to audit how animals are treated at livestock and poultry farms that supply the company. Tyson President and CEO Donnie Smith explains how the program, called FarmCheck, will work.

Smith says FarmCheck has already begun on a trial basis. Tyson has maintained an Office of Animal Well-Being for nearly 13 years, and that’s where FarmCheck comes from.

Smith says Tyson works with more than twelve thousand independent livestock producers.
