Around 7:03 Wednesday morning, the Lyon County Sheriffs Office investigated the two vehicle accident, at the intersection of 250th Avenue and Highway 75, east of Doon.
A 1992 Chevy S-10 pickup, driven by 19-year old Trevor Vandentop, of Boyden, was westbound on 250th Street. 34-year old David Pinkerton, of Sioux City, was northbound on Hwy 75 in a 2008 chevy K2500HD. Vandentop ran the stop sign at the intersection and Pinkerton struck the Vandentop vehicle in the driver's side.
Both drivers were taken to Sanford Rock Rapids. Vandentop was then airlifted to Sanford Sioux Falls with non-incapacitating injuries. Pinkerton received possible injuries.
