Sioux Center Wreck



Sioux Center, IA (KICD) -- A Rock Valley man is injured after the vehicle he was driving struck a feed wagon.

   The Sioux County Sheriffs Office says around 8-am Monday, the accident occurred at the intersection of Garfield Avenue and 350th Street, 6 miles northwest of Sioux Center.

   34-year old Henry Wolfswinkel of Hull was driving a 1996 Case International 7210 tractor, pulling a feed wagon northbound on Garfield Avenue.  32-year old Lucio Mejia-Rodriguez of Rock Valley was northbound behind Wolfswinkel, in a 2002 Chevy Suburban. 

   As the tractor and wagon started to turn right, onto 350th Street, it was struck by the Suburban, which then left the roadway, entering a farmfield, northeast of the intersection

   Mejia-Rodriguez was transported to Sioux Center Hospital by Sioux Center Ambulance for treatment of injuries.  The Suburban sustained approximately $9000 in damage, and was totalled.  The grain wagon received approximately $400 in damages.

   Mejia-Rodriguez was cited for Following Too Close and  Failure To Have a Valid Drivers License.  Also assisting at the scene was the Sioux Center Fire Department..
