Pickup-Trailer Semi Wreck

Windom, MN (KICD) -- A Brewster woman was injured in a two vehicle accident just west of Windom.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident occurred around 7:16 Tuesday evening, on Highway 60 2 miles west of Windom. A 2010 International semi, driven by 54-year old Steven Schultz of Sioux Falls was westbound, when it rear-ended a wagon full of soybeans, being pulled by a 2001 Dodge pickup, driven by 61-year old Beverly McCarvel.

As a result, the wagon disconnected from the pickup, spilling the soybeans onto the highway. The Dodge wound up in the median, while the semi came to rest in a field. Both McCarvel and Schultz were taken to Sanford Windom Hospital, and were treated and released.

The Dodge pickup and wagon, along with the International semi were all totalled in the crash.. Assisting at the scene was the Cottonwood County Sheriffs Department.
