Lakefield, MN (KICD) -- A Lakefield man is arrested and faces several child pornography charges.

In Jackson County District Court Monday, 40-year old Loren Gilmore was charged with 7 counts of Possession of Child Pornography, and 3 counts of Dissemination of Child Pornography. His bail was set at $50,000. Gilmore posted bond and was released.

The charges stem from an investigation by a Minneapolis Police Investigator in January. On March 27, the investigator, along with the Lakefield Police and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant on Gilmore's home. Computers and other devices capable of storing digital media were seized and examined. A complete forensic examination of the seized items eventually more than 16,000 pornographic images allegedly involving children.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of Gilmore on September 28th.

Each of the dissemination charges are felonies with a maximum sentence of 7 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine, while each of the Possession of Child Pornography charges are also felonies, and a maximum sentence is 5 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
