Bids will be presented to the council on the Fairview Park Addition Sewer Replacement Project. As previously reported on KICD News city crews found a badly eroded pipe in need of an emergency repair. The project for the most part consists of replacement of existing sewer main located in the back yards of homes that are in Block 2 of Fairview Park Addition between East 15th and East 16th Streets and between Fairview Ave. and 7th Ave. E. The Engineer’s estimate for the project is $50,626.
The council will also take up a motion to approve an agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation for the Safe Routes to School Program. The agreement calls for sidewalk improvements on 4th Street SW and 4th Avenue SW, pedestrian signals in the vicinity, a speed trailer and SRTS coordinator. The agreement also calls for a grant in the amount of $134,880.
Tonight's meeting starts at 6:30 in the council chambers of Spencer City Hall.
