Gruver Fire Chief Dan Harvey said that shortly before 9, their department was called to Bob's Body Shop, at 203 Third Street. Harvey said a person driving by on Highway 9 noticed the flames.
There was also an occupied apartment in the structure, but the residents were able to get out of the structure safely. Firefighters were on the scene for about 5 to 5 1/2 hours, and were called out later to extinguish some hot spots.
The cause of the blaze is still unknown.
