Polaris Expansion Follow Up



Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)--Polaris Industries is set to move forward on a multi-million dollar expansion at it's Spirit Lake plant.

Local plant Director of Operations Brian Hines tells KICD News that they are doing a $22.6 million expansion, that is driven mainly by their acquisition of Indian Motorcycles one year ago.

Hines comments on why he believes Polaris has been able to grow at a time when many businesses have had to cut back or toe the line.

A high number of jobs will be coming to Spirit Lake with this expansion.

The current plan is to start up the new Indian line this December.

As reported over the weekend on KICD News, the Iowa Economic Development Authority awarded Polaris with $395,000 in direct financial assistance as well as tax benefits as a part of this project
