The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office says 47-year-old Terry Simunek was eastbound in the 3100 block of Highway 9 at 11:22 p.m. Simunek lost control, crossed the centerline, then rolled his 1988 CHevy Pickup in the north ditch.
Simunek was transported to Lakes Regional Healthcare by their ambulance unit with non-incapacitating injuries. Simunek was cited on a class D felony count of OWI 3rd offense.
Superior Fire and Rescue and Bob's Auto Body of Milford assisted.
Sioux Center, IA (KICD)--A Sioux Center woman is extricated for her car following a Wednesday morning accident.
The Sioux County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Kaleigh Schildhouse was driving a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass southbound on Highway 75, one mile north of Sioux Center when she lost control, entered the west ditch, and rolled onto the car's top shortly before 9:00 a.m.
Schildhouse required extrication from the vehicle by the Sioux Center Fire Department and was transported to the Sioux Center Hospital by the Sioux Center Ambulance for treatment of her injuries.
Sioux Center Police and the Iowa State Patrol assisted with the accident which remains under investigation.
Emmetsburg, IA (KICD)--A Swea City man is booked into Palo Alto County jail on drug charges.
Palo Alto County Deputies were conducting routine patrol around 1:00 this (Friday) morning when they spotted a suspicious vehicle in Independence Township. After investigation Todd Carlson was arrested for possession of marijuana.
Carlson was held pending an appearance before the Magistrate.
Pocahontas, IA (KICD) -- A traffic stop east of Pocahontas lands two men in jail.
The Pocahontas County Sheriffs Office says a deputy made the stop of a vehicle for speeding around 2:30 Saturday morning. The deputy noticed the two vehicle occupants making suspicious movements, as the vehicle pulled over.
Upon investigation, it was determined the driver, 18-year old Michael Wallace Jr of Carter Lake appeared to be under the influence, and was asked to exit the vehicle. A search of the vehicle produced a scale and a grinder.
Wallace and the passenger 18-year old Colton Doty of Bemidji, MN were taken to the Pocahontas County Jail. A drug evaluation of Wallace determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance.
Both were jailed on charges of Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Wallace was additionally charged with OWI and Speeding. His bond was set at $2300, while Doty's bond was set at $1300. The Pocahontas Police assisted at the scene.
