Estherville, IA (KICD)--Iowa Lakes Community College has entered into a pact with Snap-On® Incorporated.

Under the agreement approved during Tuesday's board meeting, Iowa Lakes can offer “train the trainer” sessions to business and industry, specifically for electronic measuring equipment. Iowa Lakes is then recognized as a Snap-On® industry trainer in the areas of torque and multimeter.  The college anticipates offering industry training in the near future with instructors who are already certified in those areas.

In addition the arrangement also allows the college to utilize the Snap-On® brand in conjunction with its industry training programs, which enhances the value over other industry training programs.  Discounts will be utilized as well.

In Human Resources action, the Trustees approved a voluntary early retirement plan. Staff members are eligible for the plan if they have 10 years of full-time service and are at least 55 years old. The plan includes a financial incentive that is based on their salary and includes single insurance until the individual is Medicare eligible

One new faculty member was introduced to the Trustees.  Chris Gerstbrein is the new criminal justice instructor and is based on the Estherville campus.

The next meeting of the Iowa Lakes Board of Trustees will be Tuesday, October 16th in Estherville.
