New Recycling Agreement



Spencer, IA (KICD)--The city of Spencer has a new recycling partner in place.

Complete Recovery recently opted out of their contract with the city leaving them 90 days to come up with a new partner.  On Monday evening an agreement was reached with Van's Sanitation & Recycling of Le Mars.

Public Works Director Mark White says the transition should be seamless for the public.

The city received proposals as well from Millenium Recycling of Sioux Falls and Horizon's Unlimited of Emmetsburg.  In both cases the city would have been responsible for transporting the recycling to either site.

Van's currently handles recycling for Plymouth and Cherokee Counties.
