Spencer, IA (KICD)--The Spencer City Council is set to make a decision on who processes the City’s recycling this evening.

Complete Recovery recently opted out of their contract with the city leaving them 90 days to come up with a new partner.  In the meantime the city has  received 3 proposals which will be presented to them in tonight's Public Works Committee meeting prior to the regular council session where action is on the docket.

The Public Works Committee will also be presented with a video showing needed improvements to a portion of the sanitary sewer that is between East 15th Street and East 16th Street, west of Fairview Avenue.  This needed repair was found when City employees were utilizing the sewer camera during routine maintenance.  Action on this item is also on the regular council agenda.

The council is also slated to take action on a resolution to state support for actions aligned with becoming a Blue Zones Certified Worksite.

The Public Works Committee meeting starts at 5:45 this evening and is followed by regular session at 6:30 in the council chambers of Spencer City Hall.
